lost the thumbnails labels

for some strange reason, when I view photos in thumbnail mode, the labels
below each thumbnail doesn't show any longer

any ideas?

The following tweak originally posted by

"How to Restore or Disable File Names
for Thumbnails in Windows XP"
(works for thumbnail view and filmstrip view)

Open a folder that contains image files.

Press and hold your Shift key while clicking
on the View button and select Details.

Continue holding the Shift key and click
on the View button and select Thumbnails
again.
