lost the indicator that shows site is loading

Frustrated Newbie

I've suddenly lost the indicator strip at the bottom of
Internet Explorer 6 -- which showed that a site was
loading with a blue 'thermometer' type indicator.

How do I get this back? Thanks!
 
Hi, Have you changed the screen resolution in Display Properties
lately? I lost the loading status bar when I changed from 800x600
High Color 16 bit to 800x600 True Color 32 bit. When I changed it
back the loading status bar appeared again.
