Lost the arrow on the right side of the task bar

Was trying to close some programs in order to load new
software and somehow lost the arrow that would allow you
to hide the running programs. How do I turn it back on?

Right click taskbar, click properties, check box at bottom of the 'task bar'
tab that says, "hide inactive icons."

I have the same problem, tried to uncheck and recheck inactive still not
working.
