Lost the ability to Compress

Hi... if i start a new PPT from scratch, insert TIF, PPT auto-converts to
PNG. If i then "Compress Picture", it converts the picture to the proper
resolution and JPG format.
Fine. Perfect.

Issue is, we have a bunch of larger existing ppts (100 megs+) that for some
reason, do not allow compression. We see the PNGs. We tell picture toolbar
to compress (sometimes selected only, sometimes all pictures), and nothing
happens. PNG remains a PNG. There's no delay at all.

We can't figure out why they won't compress.

Any thoughts/input/suggestions appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

Mike,

You've lost me a bit. How do you get the compression in PowerPoint to turn
from one image type to another? Do you have some sort of addin? What version
of PowerPoint.
