when i upgraded from 98 to 2000, i lot my interner
protocol (tcp/ip). how can i get it back?

Thanks. I can't seem to re-install TCP/IP because it's
not listed as one of my drop-down options in my LAN
components section. Any other ideas?

I'm not sure where you're at to be getting a dropdown list but Control
Panel|Network|"connection"|Properties then under connection uses section
choose Install|Protocol then choose Internet Protocol

Thanks Dave. When I choose Install/Protocol, it brings me
to another screen. My choices in this next screen do not
include Internet Protocol (TCP/IP). So, I can't proceed
with the install. Does this make sense?

You might try removing all network/ modem adapters from Device Manager.
After you successfully remove them restart then after successful restart
power down and reinstall the adapters.
