Tell us how you managed to "export email addresses from your sent
folder" in the first place.....and please unstick your caps lock...

You need to replace your keyboard. The Shift key is stuck.

Exporting a folder to an Excel file does NOT alter the original folder in
any way whatsoever. Are you saying that the Sent Items is now lacking a
Subject on its contents or that the Subject line didn't export?

Yes the Sent Items are now lacking a Subject on its contents. After using the
Sent File it no longer has anything in the subject line. The strange thing is
if the email was in answer to another it picked up that subject

first make a copy of the file you want to transfer
File, import export,click export, next, microsoft excel, select the folder
use the copy,export to a file (desktop), name the file, next, then map the
fields you want click ok, finish

Well that's not exporting email "addresses" is it? That's exporting a
whole folder. And why would you need to make a copy of the folder in the
first place?

Describe the exact steps you used.

I'm using Outlook 2003 and Windows XP

first make a copy of the file you want to transfer(Which I didn't do but now
I know)
File,
import export,click export, next,
microsoft excel, select the folder
use the copy,export to a file (desktop), name the file, next, then map the
fields you want click ok, finish

Outlook doesn't contain files.
File,
import export,click export, next,
microsoft excel, select the folder
use the copy,export to a file (desktop), name the file, next, then map the

That's certainly a valid export, but it won't delete anything from the
original folder you're exporting. Can you take before and afetr screen shots,
upload them to, say,
http://www.xsolive.com/Outlook Screen shots/Forms/Lastest images.aspx
and post the URLs to those shots here.
