I recently had AC97 Audio Configuration reinstalled. I thought that
would fix a problem with a website's sound. It didn't. I am without
sound on that site and can't figure out what I need to do to
re-establish that sound. Can you help?

Is there sound on your PC other than this website. If yes then it's probably
not the sound on your PC. Which website are you referring to. You may need
to have a plug-in installed.

I doubt if it's your computer causing the problem. Can you try a
different browser?

That is something I have not experienced until today. I have recently used Skype
and therefore set my sound to come from the headphones and the mike on the
headset was the sound input. OK for Skype but no good for ordinary use. Realised
that I did not have any sound when I booted the puter - pulled the front USB -
the one for the headset and bingo - sound came about. Might that be your trouble
also?

If you get sound from other sites and from your computer it is probably
not the fault of your computer. If you are using Internet Explorer as
your browser to access this problem site, I suggest you try Firefox or
some other browser to see if the sound will then play. Firefox is a free
download. Google for it.
