lost sound in xp!

I have lost all sound in xp< I have tried instaling
drivers, players, configured the sound settings, ect!! I'm
thinking that my sound devices ave been lost?? I checked
the physical line to the sound card, and replaced it. I
just did a system restore to try to fix... but no luck! I
can usually figure things out eventualy, but its been two
days and I'm stumped? I'm loosing my patience. any
suggestions? Or can anybody send me a "fix file"? Thanks

i have the same prob no sound just beeps ive tried every

thing its been 2 weeks and ive still no luck. i upgraded
my windows and my sound went, ive tried to contact
microsoft and cant even get them by phone and getting
them online is a joke they dont want to know.sorry i cant
help but if i find a fix ill let you know? andy
 
have a look in the GENERAL area of this newsgroup. Kelly
is a very helpful person who has the fix posted on her

stuffed me mines been low for months now!
 
I have the same problem and I think it happened after we
installed XP. But what I have to ask you is: do your
speakers make any sounds? Like when I turn mine on I can
tell they're on because they have a "fuzz" sound, but
they don't play any sounds. Let me know, because I'd
like to think I'm not the only one with this stupid
problem.
