Lost sound device

Lee Ann Murray

Lost my sound device (most likely uninstalled or deleted
it) and cannot find a way to replace it. Cannot be
rolled back, or restored. I can only use the Quick
Restore at this point, but I am not sure how to back-up
all my hard-drives, files, etc? Any ideas?

You need to supply more details about your setup - onboard sound, soundcard,
type etc.

Try this : Right Click on My COmputer > Properties > Hardware > Device
Manager > any little yellow triangles in the ladder "Sound, Video and Game
Controllers" ? Does your sound card show up here ?

Have you tried re-installing your sound device drivers (make sure they are
XP specific) ?
