Stupid question. Seem to have lost my showdesktop icon on
the taskbar. How can I get it back? Creating a shortcut
brings up the desktop in a folder--not what I was looking
for.

Thank you. You have saved me a lot of aggravation. I did
search in the knowledge base but obviously didn't use the
correct wording--which part of show desktop didn't it
understand? Sometimes it's a little difficult to navigate
in the knowledge base.

Actually, I am not a new user, but posted here because I
knew it was a pretty basic question. Here's another one:
Even though I have checked to save each folder's view,
Windows 2000 doesn't. It's the simple things that are so
annoying. Can you help me with this one?

To set the folder options, try holding down the CTRL key as you close the
folder. Now it will remember the settings to this folder.

HTH,
Daniel
