Lost serial number

Hi. My Windows will not start unless I activate it, but I lost the case to my
CD with the number on it. Is there any way I can get through this? I'm pretty
sure I have Windows XP Small Business. Can someone please help me with this?

We need some more details,
1.Is this the first time you are installing xp on your computer
2.If xp was installed previously, did you format/repair xp
3. Did you make any major changes to the operating system prior to the
request to 'activate' if yes download belarc (from belarc.com) and install,
this program will locate your key.
4. If you did do a reinstall, phone Microsoft, and if you previously
registered with them they should be sympathetic.
5. Perhaps a MVP who reads this may have other avenues for you.

If Windows refuses to boot because it was not activated, boot to Safe Mode.
Then run "activate Windows" and follow the on screen prompts for phone
activation.
