After running Microsoft Anti-Spyware, I lost the previous addresses under the
arrow in the address bar on Internet Explorer, and the previous entries in
the "Run" box on the Start menu (msconfig, etc). I was able to restore these
once a while back, but now I don't remember how I did it. Any advice?

Hey Jim

For your recent addresses in IE you could enable hidden files and folders
then go to the History folder, If they are still stored anywhere it would be
in there but using Favorites would be a easier place to store the sites you
want to revisit,

To view the history folder goto c:drive then double click documents and
settings, Next double click your username and then goto tools on the top bar
and choose Folder Options, Click the View Tab and under 'Hidden Files &
Folder' place a check next to 'Show Hidden Files and Folders' press apply
then ok to exit, From the Documents and settings page you will now see extra
folders, Double click 'Local Settings' then double click 'History' and check
if they are in there, If they are right click and choose open then save them
to favorites,

(Go back to folder options when you are finished and press restore defaults
on the View tab to hide the folders again)

Rather than use the address bar to store your URL history Its an easier
option to save the sites you want to revisit to your favorites list,

Click Favorites from the top bar and choose 'Add To Favorites' or choose
'Organize Favorites' then create a few folders and name them for each group
of sites you visit then add sites to these folders, This way they will always
be there whenever you need them. Most cleaner/remover applications will
remove URL history settings when used plus your pc will also clear them after
so many days depending what its set to (Open an IE browser window and goto
tools on the top bar then choose Internet Options, Check the History setting)
so its best to save the sites,

Regarding the Start Menu > Run commands there isnt a way to bring these back
if they have been cleared except for retyping the lines, If you use it often
and may forget them open notepad and save a few of the commands and save it
so you can copy and paste them into the run area when you need to or retype
them into the run box when its required
