I set up some computers at home on a network and forgot the passwords and
user names. The win2000 computer automatically sees the computers with xp
operating systems with no problem. When the xp computers try to see into the
win2000 computer for file sharing the logon window pops up...so I'm
wondering if there is a user name and pw in a folder somewhere on one of
these computers that I can retrieve, or is there a way to eliminate the
logon window altogether?

Both of these are VFAQs. Google is your friend - if you type the following
words into a Google search box then you can see countless suggestions, most
of them highly relevant. And no, the windows password is not stored in some
file or folder where you might retrieve it. The only place would be your
notes that you might have made in anticipation of this event.

forgot windows password
and
windows automatic logon
