Lost programs

Following the advice from a friend to reinstall Windows XP, I did just that. Now I've lost a load of programmes
My online manual, and several others
I also tried to access one of my fave radio sites, but it won't play anymore
My original windows does not now exist. I wish I hadn't touched it now
Is there anyway to restore it and all my progs?

How did you reinstall XP? If you opted to reformat the hard disk/partition
during the setup stage, then all your pre-existing programs and data files
have gone.

the levy was dry!get what i'm saying?You'll have to
download ALL your favorite programs again,should'a tried
to restore to previous state.U R SCREWED!
 
Unfortunately I did. It got rid of my initial problem, but now I'm encountering more
