Lost Power Management

Hi all,

I have recently lost all of the standby/hybernate
functionality on my W2K workstation. I suspect it
happenned after I loaded a video capture utility from my
ASUS video card.

Before this, my PC worked perfectly with the APCI
functions. It would enter standby without any issues.

When I look at the advanced settings under power options I
am now missing the setting for standby etc.

How can I re-enable this functionality?

Hello,
Have you tried removing the video capture utility, just to see if hibernate
functionality returns? This would at least give you a good idea what's
causing the problem.

If it is the video capture utility, most likely the utility has installed an
outdated driver, which is not ACPI-compliant. The only recourse at that
point would be to take one of the following steps:
- Leave the utility uninstalled
- Get an update for the utility or the suspect driver, if an update is
available (from the vendor of the utility)
- Work with the vendor of the utility so they're aware of the issue; they
may be able to provide a patch or fix
