lost photos

i tried to email some photos and the email failed to go through. i got cannot
find server. when i went back to my pictures folder the photos were missing.
all that was there was icons but no pictures. it says it is a read only file.
how do i find these lost pictures?

Your best chance at finding them again might be use of a program to recover
deleted files. You can check at http://www.snapfiles.com under the freeware
section and find something that will work fairly well or you can spend a
great deal of money sending your drive off to a specialized recovery
service. Either way you'd want to - ideally - do the recovery from another
computer with the harddrive possibly slaved into that box.

Are the photos still attached to the email you tried to send? What happen to the
email?
 
i don't know exactly where the email went. when the photos finished uploading
i got a screen that said cannot find server. when i went back to my pictures
folder the photos were gone.
