lost permissions when creating a volume set

I am posting this here also. Not sure if it is a 2K thing
or 4.0 thing

Ok this is a new one on me..... We have an NT 4.0 PDC as a
file server only. It has a 2 way trust with a 2K domain
(where all users exist). This 4.0 server holds our public
folder and user shares. We created a volume set by adding
empty space to our drive (4gb) now people have access to
each others personal shares, and folders on the public
folder that they should not have. We do not use the
correct (microsoft) way of doing permissions. Our
Administrator has access to ALL (personal and public)
folders. When I look at the permissions it appears that
everyone has been added to each share with full control.
By the way this server has ~120 shares. We use \\server\%
username% for all of our users. instead of the correct
\\server\users\%username%

Any help would be greatly appreciated. My boss (the
administrator) and the CFO i feel want to blame me. I am a
4.0 MCSE and 2K MCSA and have never seen this.

Also if you think I am crazy let me know that also, and I
will look at some other items.

Thanks,
Harold

Harold ...

I can't say that I have ever seen this one, either. I do not see how simply
adding space to the set would cause this problem. Let me ask you this ...
is it simply the EVERYONE group that has been added with FC? If so, simply
removing Everyone should resolve the issue.

If I am missing your point, please let me know.

It just added the everyone group. But is there a simple
way to remove the everyone group without going to every
folder? Some of the sub folders have different
permissions then the upper folders so I can't just delete
everyone and tell it to replace permissions on all files
and sub directories right?
