I have an HP pavillion 9995 that has a recovery partition
on disk C. In 2 years I have never seen this partition in
explorer until yesterday when it showed-up after I did
some tinkering with the comp. After a reboot it is now
gone. I have tried everything (except whats needed) to
get back access to this hidden info. Does anybody have
any ideas? It might help me with my sanity.

THANKS A BUNCH !

Compaq has been shipping their systems for quite a while with a hidden
recovery partition. In the last few years, HP and a few other OEMs seem to
be doing it as well. As to where and how you managed to see it... Maybe you
temporarily had File Options> View set to show hidden files and folders?
Disk Manager in Computer Management (one of the administrator tools) may
have shown its presence too.
