lost outlook messages

I found an article that said "When you import e-mail
messages into Outlook Express 6.0, the list of options
may include only Microsoft Outlook Express version 4.0
and Outlook Express 6.0; Microsoft Outlook Express
version 5 may not be listed.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, select the Outlook Express
6.0 option to import Outlook Express 5 messages. "
This is the problem I encountered, but I can't figure out
how to change this option. Could someone PLEEEASE tell
me how.

You don't need to change the option, just select Outlook Express 6 and
it will import the version 5 folders.
