lost outlook email files during 08SE to XP Pro upgrade

Anyone out there can tell me what I can do, if anything,
about the fact that the XP Pro upgrade from 98SE wiped
out all my outlook express emails (inbox, sent, etc)???

It didnt touch my favorites, cookies, my documents, etc..
Everything else is perfectly fine. And the POP settings
for the user account are all intact, but my inbox and
sent mail have been wiped totally clean!!!!

is there anything I can do about this? Does it hide these
files somewhere? Will restoring back to 98SE get these
back??
