Tried to fix problem where e-mails for all 4 home
accounts were being sent to just one account. Somehow I
deleted 3 accounts altogether. I reactivated the
accounts again, but all the e-mails that had been stored
in the inbox (received items, sent items) and the address
book for each of those 3 accounts have vanished. I want
them back! Are they hiding somewhere in my hard drive?
If so, how do I retrieve them and how do I put everything
in its proper place in the new accounts (i.e., put my
sent items into the new account's "sent items" file & put
my old address book into my new account's "address book")?
Thanks for your help. I've spent way too many hours
trying to find an answer.

If they are anywhere on your system, they would be in a dbx file. Look for
those files, most likely one's referencing the location in your e-mail
client as in inbox, deleted, etc. and use the tool from the following site
to open those files to see if they include the lost e-mails:
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/dbx.html

To see dbx files in Windows XP you need to enable show hidden files. Start, Control Panel, Folder Options, View, Advanced Settings.
