Lost notes in contacts importing from 2003 to 2007 can I recover

Any help appreciated. Also why do the pictured from Cardscan import only
sometimes?

You've just discovered why importing/exporting Outlook data from one
instance of Outlook to another is NOT recommended.
If you still have the original pst file, copy it to your HDD, remove any
read-only attribute and in Outlook do File-Open-Outlook Data File. then copy
your contacts from one folder to the other....
