Lost my Waste Basket icons

It seems Norton System Works has done some damage to my XP pro. I lost my waste basket icon and get a windows default icon. When I try to correct the icon using the desktop method nothing changes. Can someone help me?
 
And if you uninstall Norton's System_Doesn't_Works?

K, I removed Norton's System_Doesn't_Works and I still can't change my waste basket icon.

I can't even change my wastebasket Icon to another icon. Disk is defragged.

Any ideas?

Ok, I click on properties in on my desktop. (I am using windows classic settings)
Click on Desktop Tab
Click on Customize Desktop
Tried to use the Change icon or restore befault on the RB full and RB empty icon.
They appear to change in the menu but not on the desktop.


I am able to change any icon that appears on my desktop except for the RB. I can change My Computer, My Network Places, and even My Documents, but I just can't seem to change the RB icon.

this is a common problem, NSW often messes up the recycle bin icon. it's
happened to me several times.

search the symantec site, they have a quick-n-easy fix.
 
also, I believe in XP all you really need is to do a right-click |
properties on the recycle bin, it'll let you choose the icons (empty and
full) right in that dialog.
