Lost my network printer - My fault?

Recently I cleaned out my C:\Documents and
Settings\Hunt\Local Settings\Temp directory that had
grown to over 200MB. Afterwards, I find that I cannot
print to the network printer, and I get no error
message. If I go to Printers in Control Panel, status
says unable to connect and when I try to check the
printer properties I get an error message that says the
spooler isn't running. When I check services, it is
running. Stopping and restarting does nothing. The
printer is attached to another computer on the network.
All computers are running XP Home. I can still access
the internet and get my email via the network, but I
cannot see the printers or other computers. Coincidence,
or did I shoot myself in the foot? Either way, I need
medical attention here! Any help/suggestions would be
appreciated!

If you've tried to start the Print Spooler from the command prompt:

net start spooler

and there is no change, try a System File Check

From the command prompt, type

sfc /scannow

(note space between c and /)

Cari,

Thanks, there were updates that were needed, but that
didn't fix the problem. Any other ideas?

I just discovered that the DNS Server addresses are
different on the computer that has the printer connected
to it than they are on the two computers that cannot see
the functional system or printer. The IP addresses of
the three computers are ###.$$$.1.1, ###.$$$.1.2 and
###.$$$.1.3. The DNS addresses on the less than
completely functional computers both are ###.$$$.1.254.
The functional system does not have any portion of either
address in common with the other two. Whatcha think?
