I had 790 contacts imported into my contacts folder, and
had created a sub folder with temporary contacts in it.
Yesterday I wanted to access my contacts to arrange, edit
and manage them. They were all gone. The entire folder of
temporary contacts had disappeared and the entries in the
main contacts folder beyond a certain date had all gone.
I am left with three ocntacts only. The ones I had
inserted when I first got the laptop back in April.
The same thing happened with my emails. Everything sent
and received between the 15th of June and the 3rd of July
is Gone. My sent fold only shows yesterdays sent emails
and nothing beyond!
Can someone tell me why? Where are they? I didn;t delete
anything.
I was on the 60 day trial version of MS Office wnd I
downloaded the teachers and students version on the 30th
of June when my trail period ended. But I used the
Outlook files after that and they were all there!
Thank you
Nora

Since we weren't watching, it's hard to say what you did. You left out too
many steps. It is possible you deleted them inadvertently. If so they would
be in your Deleted Items Folder. More likely, you have simply switched to
using a different Outlook Data File (PST file) when you switched Outlook
installations. Search your hard drive for all PST files (they're in hidden
folders). Open each in Outlook until you find your data. Then reset Outlook
to use that file instead of the one it is using now.
