Lost my CD devices

Hi,
I am expirencing a somewhat strange difficulty with my windows lately. The
fast is that when i open "my computer" i can't see nor open the dvd drives.

I've tried to turn them off in the "device manager" and turned them back on
again but that did not work. I've also tried to fill in the path in the
adress bar but that did not work either.

I am not looking forward to have to reinstall my PC or using a system
restore point. Please help me find an easy solution.

How can i remove the filters you suggested to remove?
also the link you provided did not work.
