please help me in retreiving my administrator log in by
deleting in by mistake. can not install new programs
sinse I get a message that says I have no permission.
Please help me put it back on. Thanks
XP requires at least one Administrator account to be in existence. When
first installed there is a default account in this category. When a new
user account is created, the default Administrator "disappears" from the
welcome screen.
If using XP Pro, press Ctrl+Alt+Del twice when at the welcome screen. This
brings up the classic style logon prompt. Type in Administrator and (if one
was assigned) the password.
NOTE: If you changed the name of the default account - type that name
instead of Administrator.
Since the default account goes into hiding automatically, consider creating
another account in the administrator group for yourself. This account will
not disappear off of the welcome screen. Reserve the "disappearing"
Administrator account for troubleshooting.
If you have XP Home, you can access the default Administrator account by
booting to Safe Mode. Select it from the welcome screen or, if presented
with the default logon screen, type in Administrator. Unless changed, there
is no password for this account - leave the password field blank.
