lost MSconfig

Hi

I want to go into "STARTUP" to dissable a startup programme but I seem to
have lost the ability to use MS Config in RUN. The system tells me that
windows cannot find it.

A search shows that it doesn't seem to be on the system anymore.

How can I get it back.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you left a space as you did in your post it should be entered as :
msconfig

(no spaces)

Otherwise if it really is missing you can extract if from your XP cd
and copy it to your Windows folder
 
Hi ,
Have you checkout the msconfig.exe file in dllcache? If not check it out.
Windows keeps the msconfig.exe file in dllcache Folder which as System
Procted Hidden files.
you can copy it and paste it into system32.

If you are unable to locate the file from dllcache either you can copy it
from Windows XP CD to system or use System File checker Utility for windows
to automatically copy system files.
