Lost MS Task Launcher

I cannot find Microsoft Task Manager, since I installed the IE 7 beta. I
removed it (IE 7) and went back to IE6 but now all my word doc.'s are not
able to open. How can I get MS task manager back on my computer?

Task Manager, MSCONFIG, or REGEDIT disappear while opening

Ctrl + Alt + Delete
or
Ctrl + Shift + Esc

Right click the Taskbar | Task Manager

Start | Run | Type: taskmgr | Click OK

Double click on C:\WINDOWS\system32\taskmgr.exe

Ctrl + Alt + Delete opens the Windows Security window if the Welcome screen
is turned off.

Click Start | Click Run | Type or paste the following line into the box and
click OK

%windir%\system32\taskmgr.exe

Does Task Manager open?

Does an error message popup?

Yes, the task manager is now running. I may be explaining myself wrong. I
want to open the program where I can do one of many things. Like run a words
document, or make a spread sheet, compose a letter, etc. This si what I can
no longer get to open. Thans for all your help.

Crystal Ball(tm) sez you are asking about the MS *Works* Task Launcher. If
this is correct and Works has a repair feature, use it. Otherwise,
uninstall/reinstall Works. If you have more questions about this issue, you
should post in a Works newsgroup or even the IE7 beta newsgroup.

What I want to run is MS word. I have no way of getting it back, when I put
in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Works\msworks.exe
It says it cannot be found. I have no MS of any kind now. I cannot do
spreadsheets, word, envelopes or just type a letter. It is all missing, for
some reason now.

Paste the following line into Start | Run and click OK...

%programfiles%\Microsoft Works

Does a folder open or do you get an error message?

Try this...
Start | Run | Type: winword | Click OK

Does Word open?

MS Word (winword.exe) , even if it came with Microsoft Works Suite
should be in one of the following folders depending on MS Word version...

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office9
or
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10
or
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11

Microsoft Word 2003 = 11
Microsoft Word 2002 = 10
Microsoft Word 2000 = 9

Go to add/remove programs in control panel and select the one you want to run and do a repair to it.
