Don't know exactly what happened but all at once, all of
my control buttons and url search window at top of MSIE
browser came up missing. Have found some under small >>
type buttons but not all, and the URL entry windows is
AWOL completely. How do I get them back. Do I need to un-
install msie browser then reinstall it. If so, how do I
save my Favorite Links and outlook express address book
to reinstall later if possible.
Thankx.

Carl,
Did you try "F11" ?
[or]
Odd Toolbar Behavior:
Open Regedit to the following location:
Start | Run (type) "regedit" (no quotes)

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser]

Highlight the "ITBarLayout" entry (right pane)
Right-click and select: Delete, close Regedit and reboot.
Note: the "ITBarLayout" will be recreated on restart.

What you need to do is to right-click on whatever you have
left of a toolbar in IE. Then click on the following, so
that the little black check-mark appears to the left of
each of them in this menu (the right-click toolbar menu):

Standard Buttons
Address Bar
Links (optional - if you want them; I recommend having
them, but customizing them so they're actually useful)

You can add or remove buttons from the Standard Buttons
Toolbar by right-clicking on that toolbar and clicking
Customize.

Once you get it the way you like it MAKE SURE YOU RIGHT-
CLICK ON ANY TOOLBAR AND CLICK ON "LOCK THE TOOLBARS."

Here's a page on MS's site I just stumbled into looking
for the answers to my own questions - it looks like it
might be helpful to you:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/using/howto/customizing
/customb and rowser.asp

Hope this helps.

If it does, now it's your turn to help somebody next
question you see that you can answer.... :-)

I wouldn't recommend screwing with the registry if you
don't feel absolutely comfortable doing so.

If you aren't sure what exactly it means to regedit, I'd
definitely advise against attempting it.

I, personally, know just enough about it to know that I
don't want to mess with it. You can fix things, yes; but
you can also cause way more damage than your original
problem.

Just a word of caution....

Dani
