Lost manually added firewall exceptions

I have added an FTP server to my Vista computer, and I added program and
port to firewall exceptions manually.

Today, I putted my system to Halt (sleep) and now when it resumed I
discovered that my FTP server was no longer listening. And it was
completely removed from the exception list.

I'd check that the system is in the same 'profile' as you'd created your
original exceptions.

How do i check if it's the same profile? i've never heard of a profile

This is my home computer, and not a domain computer.

Home machines will still have two profiles, Private and Public.
To view your exceptions:
1) run MMC.exe
2) file/Add new snap-in
3) add Windows Firewall with Advanced Security
4) select the Inbound Rules node and look for the exception you created.
There should be a column that lists the profile it was added to.
5) select the monitoring node and check which profile is active.
