I have two computers networked so that both can use the internet and printers! This computer has XP Pro, the other has 98. A while ago I found that I could not log in under my name on the XP computer (connected to the web), after typing my password, getting the XP display, the display would blank if I tryed to access anything. I could log on OK using my wifes user name and pass so I made myself a new log in

Having tested the new log on I decided to delete the old one. XP said that the user files ould be saved so that was OK. But I have lost my e-mail and the address book, only documents and some other things (cannot remember as I cut and pasted them in the new log in) were saved. Is there any way to recover the old mail and the address book and the newsgroup listings. My mail/news program is outlook express!

Do a Search for *.wab
This should find Windows Address Book.

Start | Settings | Contol Panel | Folder Options | View tab |
Check the following:
 Display contents of system folders
 Show hidden files and folders
Apply | OK

This should find your e-mail folders
Do a Search for *.dbx
