lost internet connectivity

Upgraded to xp pro and now running xp pro connected to
internet with static address. all ok then cannot connect.
pinged gateway,dns,server no repsonse, pinged network card
received response. Checked all values in network setwork
all ok.

Did uninstall on xp pro and now running windows me and
can connect to internet.

Had similar problem- check your firewall on properties.
