I have a problem connecting to the internet via SBC DSL and linksys
router after the machine is turned off for 12 hours.

I can ping bit that is all.

I could install PPPoe and i would connected ok. I can change Linksys
router.

if you can ping a public ip, check the dns by using nslookup.

Hi,
Are you the David Sherman from Bridgeton, NJ?

Nslookup shows 67.36.13.26 which isn't the DNS for Columbus OH. The
secondary DNS number is 66.73.20.40 which are SBC addresses in plano
TX.

The numbers for Columbus OH are 206.141.195.204 and 206.141.192.60.

When I add these number to XP, I still can't connect.

I can browse www.cnn.com but not http://www.sbc.com.

I installed Netscape 7.1 and can't get to http://www.netscape.com.

Email using Outlook express is a no no.

I had the same problem 3 weeks ago. I ended up re-installing Windows
XP and all the patches. There have been no patches so 10 days so that
isn't the problem.
I check for virus, nothing.

SBC tech support says it is a microsoft problem, I think it s a DNS
problem or a phone line problem.
