Using Win ME system. After connectioning to my ISP, I can send/receive emails
and use AOL's IM, but when I open IE, there's no activity in the little
monitors down in the tray, and I get an "unable to display page" in IE's
window. I'm still connected but can't go anywhere in IE. Already contacted
BellSouth and they say it's a IE problem. How can I fix this?

Hi,
Assuming that the settings in dial-up-networking and Internet Options>
Connections are correct... BellSouth should have helped you verify these:

Download LSPFix- all versions of Windows http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.zip
And Winsock2 Fix- Win98, ME
http://www.bu.edu/pcsc/internetaccess/winsock2fix.html

Go to http://www.aumha.org/a/quickfix.htm Work through steps 1-7. That may
fix the connection problem. If not, run LSPFix- do not use the "I know what
I'm doing option." If unsuccessful with LSPFix, try Winsock2 Fix.

If still unable to use IE, go back to http://www.aumha.org/a/quickfix.htm
and complete step #8- Run HijackThis and post a log for analysis.

Hello - how nice to get such a quick response!! As soon as I'm done with all
the Christmas stuff today, I'll sit down and try out your suggestions. This
problem is intermittant, as you can see, since I'm able to get here.
Sometimes I can surf for several minutes before I'm "lost". Thanks for the
advice and I'll let you know how it turns out.........Bambi
