Lost Installation Log

I was working to fix a problem and uninstalled a program.
While fixing the problem I used System Restore to go back
to a day prior to the uninstalling of the program. Now,
most of the program and its shortcuts have also been
restored but it will not function properly.
I have tried to uninstall again but I get an error.
The program is listed in Add/Remove Programs, but it will
NOT uninstall because the "install.log" is missing.

How do I uninstall the remnants of this program?
Or
Can I reinstall over whats left?

You did not say what program you are talking about.
However you should be able re-install over what is there.
In fact that is often suggested to clear up un-install
problems.
