Hi,

I seem to have lost all image preview capabilities. In "My pictures"
the preview window says "no preview available" whenever I select any
image (including wmv, mpeg) file. In other folders, the standard
mini-preview you would see on the left simply does not appear. I
checked in the registry and at
HKCR\filetype\shellext\{BB2E617C-0920-11d1-9A0B-00C04FC2D6C1} the value
(Default)="{7376D660-C583-11d0-A3A5-00C04FD706EC}" is set. This is true
for all image file types. Still, no image previews.

Win2K, SP4. Also Office 2003.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am posting this info in case anyone else has this problem and needs
to fix it. The solution is pretty stupid. I had renamed the My
Documents folder "Dewey's Docs". Apparently the apostrophe wreaks havoc
with the preview viewer. I simply took the apostrophe out (now it's
"Deweys Docs") and everything is fine again. I discovered this because
I tried copying some of the images to C:\ and they previewed just fine
there. I then changed my documents to a folder called "tempdocs" and
moved everything and everything was fine. So I finally tried just
renaming the original my docs folder as described above and viola
(apologies to any francophobes out there). I hope this information will
be of help to some people.

Hi,

I find that I cannot print from the preview pane in "My Pictures"
folder. I have Win2k, SP4 and Office 2003, SP2. I can see the previews
of pictures (all types) but the print icon remains greyed out. I also
do not a "print" option in the context menus for any image type - only
"open". My default for opening is IE. I have tried defining default
print and printto commands and while some of these work from the
context menu, they do not restore the functionality in the preview
pane.

Thank you for your help.
