Lost IE

Mal

Somehow I have lost my IE. I`m using XP Home without XP2. I`ve tried to
reinstall IE 6.02800.1106 which I found at the MS download page which
says it`s the latest version for XP without XP2. When I tried to install
I got the message "Setup has detected a newer version of Intrenet
Explorer already installed on this system. Setup cannot continue." I`ve
gone to Add/Remove Programs and uninstalled IE but when I try to
reinstall I get that same message. Any help as to how to go about
reinstalling IE. (I don`t want to add SP2 yet.) TIA

You did not lose IE...you just lost the IE icon.

Right-click on your Desktop and select:
Properties > Desktop > Customize Desktop
and place a check next to Internet Explorer,
then click OK and Apply.
