When clicking on link inside of an email, the browser will load but the site
will not. I get a cannot find msg. If IE is loaded in the background, the
link will work.
If I make Firefox my default browser, then the link loads the browser and
website correctly.
Also, from inside programs, if there is a button to upgrade, for example,
and IE is not loaded in the background, the link is not found, error msg.
Why should hyperlinking work with Firefox but not MSIE?
Also, this problem occurs only with one of the three user accounts on the
computer.

Thanks

Asked and answered in the other newsgroup to which you posted. Please
don't multipost; it makes more work for everyone and will get you *less*
help, not more. See this for why:

If you have forgotten where you posted or can't find your post, use
Google Groups Advanced Search and search for your name.

Thank you for the lesson on crossposting. I went back to the site from which
I sent my original msg and created a null msg to see what appeared on the
page. I did find an option "Advanced Options" at the bottom of the page
which did open up a dialog box on crossposting. I remember that I tried to
fill that in so that the program would crosslist it but it kept rejecting my
names. On closer examination tonight I see why. One has to list the precise
USENET designation. For one who does not use this procedure very often how
was I to know the precise name of the groups? It is much easier to find the
one you want from the clickable (linked) list.
Can you tell me how one knows what to write in that box? Can you go to the
clickable list and copy and paste the name into the box?
Any suggestions? I surely want to avoid being labeled a spammer.Tom
