A couple of us find that the history is blank, more often
than not.

Config is XP Tablet (all critical patches)IE6
SP1+critical patches. Other less up to date XP configs
have similar behaviours.

History Settings are 20 days.

Why is the history not retained?

Thanks

No, it isn't.

I've had the same problem, and I am the sole user of my
machine...

I've even looked around the harddrive for the History
folder, but I can't seem to be able to find it...

If you are using McAfee anti-virus turn off the ActiveX part of Internet
Filter.

Yes, as Jim said at the beginning, the day setting is at
the default - 20 days.

Jim,
Possibly your History folder is corrupt:
[XP\2K]
Log on as Administrator and delete the desired <username> folder(s).

"C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\HISTORY"
