i want to highlight text in a powerpoint slide. the text
i imported from word was originally highlighted but this
dissapeared after pasting into powerpoint. now, i cannot
find the highlight tool. the help menu says it is there
but try as i might, i cannot find it. can anyone tell me
where i am going wrong?

Hi,

What version of PowerPoint? 2003 has a highlight tool for slideshows. But
often, things done in Word get lost when pasted. You could try pasting as a
Word Object. Edit, paste Special, Word Document Object.

The highlighting they are referring to in the help file deals with emphasizing hyperlinks, by highlighting when you mouse over. There is no native method to highlight in versions earlier than 2003 You can as a work around draw a box over the selection you want highlighted, fill it with a colour, and then set the transparency level

Or put it under the text and leave the opacity at 100%.

That way never crossed my mind, great alternative.
