I upgraded from ME to XP Home, I had no Help and Support
Center with ME. I thought that upgrading to XP Home would
solve this issue. I still don't have this program. When I
click on the taskbar to connect to the program I can't
pull up the program. I'm wondering if I should uninstall
XP and reinstall this System again. If anyone has some
suggestions, PLEASE !

If the above repair does not work:

Go to Start > Run and type in: helpctr -regserver
and hit enter.

To reinstall Help and Support:

Go to C:\Windows\inf\pchealth.inf.
Right-click and choose install. Have your XP CD available.

Note: The folder is hidden by default. Go to Start > Run and type in:
control folders. View: Show hidden files and folders and uncheck
"Hide extensions for known file types".

Carey,
I have a somewhat similar problem only when I click Index on the Help and
Support menu I get the following:
"cannot find F:\\Windows\\PCHealth\\HelpCtr\\Indices\\Merged.hhk"
F: is my CD-ROM. I installed XP from there. I ran all of your above
suggested remedies and none worked. Do you have any other ideas for a fix
short of a complete re-install of XP?
TIA,
Ken
