When my PC was purchased, I had a secondary hard drive
that was configured with my son's name as the name of the
drive. Recently, the drive "seemingly disappeared."
What has happened is that I can only assume if the path
is no longer available. I may be mistaken due to only a
cursory knowledge in this area. My question is how do
I "find" this drive again?

If the drive is detected on the boot up screen, then all
is not lost.
If the drive cannot be seen in explorer then there may be
a hard drive failure within windows.
A trip to the local Computer repair shop may be required !

I would first see if it shows in Disk Managment. Right click on My
Computer and choose Manage, then click on Disk Managment. If the drive
shows there you can see its status and maybe all thats needs to be done
is manually assign a drive letter. If it doesn't show up there then you
have a hardware problem assuming it is not just on a different
controller that needs a special driver.
