lost hard drive space

sometimes my comp. notifies me i have very little hard drive space left, when
in fact i have 103gb (115gb drive) left. in a few days it reverts back to the
original state. anyone know what's goin' on?

This notification also pops up when some folders, such as Temporary
Internet Files, etc., become too filled. Do a little housekeeping by
flushing accumulation in Temporary Internet Files, Recycle Bin, System
Restore, etc.
 
i do empty all temp internet files and also defrag religiously. also my
restore will not go back to any previous month. it will only stay at this
current month, locking me into an undesirable restore point
 
Try running CHKDSK to see if the drive has any inconsistencies or bad
sectors and attempt a fix.

Go to Start->Help and Support and do a search for CHKDSK to see what it is
and how to use it.
