Can someone help me here? Running WinXP Pro, IE6, all the latest updates, and have lost IE6 ftp access. I used to be able to access FTP sites (some that I help manage) by typing in ftp://whatever address.com in the address bar, then a login would come up, and type in the logins and passwords and there I go. Well, recently, I have lost this capablity, as a matter of fact, any ftp access is gone. I cannot click on an item to download, that the address starts with ftp? It just hangs, or times out? When I go to my network places, and click on the link to one of the sites I manage's login (saved login and password), it times out? My youngest daughter plays on here quite frequently, and I just wonder if she has changed something by accident. I can access ftp sites thru a ftp program still, which would be fine, but, I still can't download via IE from FTP sites. Have tried removing the router, and going direct, still no go. Any help is greatly appreciated, I'm becoming desperate...

Thanks,
Jason

In Internet Explorer, select Tools/Internet Options/Advanced Tab. Scroll
down to the "Use passive FTP" option and make sure that it is not selected.
