Opened a file from O2k in O2k2 and the formulas I painstakingly wrot
have been replaced by there numeric results. How can I get them back?
I have not saved the file in O2k2 yet because it sends up a warnin
that says 2k2 recalculates formulas when opening a file from a prev
vers. One of the formulas was over 300 char. long and I dont want t
redo the whole thing

This is not normal behavior.

First, I'd copy the file (so I wouldn't have to worry about damaging the
original).

Either your formulas were converted to values in xl2k or they were converted to
values when you opened them. (I'd guess the former.)

Then open xl2002 in Safe mode.
windows start button|Run
excel /safe

Then file|open your copy of the file.
Is it still formulas or values?

Is the worksheet protected? (You can hide the formulas if you lock the cells
(with hide the formulas chosen) and protect the worksheet.)

If you click Tools|Protect, do you see "Protect sheet" or "unprotect sheet"?

If it's unprotect worksheet, then try unprotecting it (you may need to supply a
password).

If it's not protected and the formulas are gone, and only values are left, I
think you'll have to go back to a backup version of your file (if you have
one!).

And if you open the workbook in xl2k, I bet you find the same exact thing.
