Lost folder

I slipped with my mouse and had it over a folder, then
slipped with it- and the folder disappeard along with all
the emails. Where did it go/ I can't find it or retrieve
it. Not the first time this has happened but this was
amajor folder with very important info. on a project.
What can I do?

Expand all your folders by pressing the plus next to it and see if you can
find it.

I've noticed that somehow the folder made it into the
delete area and was automatically deleted. How did that
happen? Seems everything in the folder is gone.
 
-Outlook holds an option to empty the Delete Items folder upon exit.
-AutoArchive can be set on this folder to delete the messages after a
certain amount of time

Also if this is an Exchange mailbox there could be a retention time set on
the Deleted Items folder.

Either way; they are gone unless you (your administrator) have a back-up

This is the second time this has happened. How can just
rolling the mouse over this by accident cause this not
only to move into delete mode but to disappear
altogether. My delete files do not delete upon exit- I
have to go in and tell it to do it. Want to find a way
to guard against this happening again.
