lost folder

I have lost a folder in windows XP. It was in one folder
on the C:\ drive and I dragged it to another folder and
now I can't find it.

I have searched extensively but it seems to have
disappeared.

Has this happened to anyone else?

No doubt. You used XP's START button|SEARCH tool - for the file name?
