use search in Win Explorer....
you must have some idea of what the extension is...

my address book has no names, just dissapeared, also outlook express and inbound names have dissapeared

If the database files are on your hard drive: Start, Search, Files or
Folders and search for *.dbf. If not, you need to explain more.

make a backup copy didn't you...
