Good day,
I had to reformat C drive and reinstall windows 98 SE. Windows XP resides on
a separate drive (D.
Before I did the format I copied the ntldr, ntdetect.com, boot.ini and
bootsect.dos onto a floppy (which does give me the dual boot menu). How do I
go about restoring the MBR so that I do not have to use a floppy disk.
And another ??, if the floppy disk works, how come placing the files back in
the root of C: does not work?
I went to windows xp and ran the installation disk and was not given an
option to repair the installation. I also used a win98 boot disk accessed
the cd rom and it will not run from dos. I"m a wee bit lost.
Thank you in advance
Have a great evening
